These two separate but interrelated exhibitions drawn from The Niland Collection look at the artistic achievements of two members of the Yeats family – John Butler Yeats and his son Jack B. Yeats.
Although both gifted artists, John and Jack were vastly different both in terms of personality and creative expression.
While John was a gifted portraitist, he never achieved the critical success he
craved in his own lifetime. Jack, on the other hand, was celebrated both in Ireland and internationally during his long career and is now remembered as one of Ireland’s greatest twentieth century artists.
These exhibitions will feature many well-known and much celebrated works by both painters.
